Meet the Aupeer Team
All of our team are volunteers with a passion to support others. We are autistic either by diagnosis or self identification. We understand what it can be like living as an autistic person in a neurotypical world with most of us discovering our own neurodivergency later in life. We don't always have all the answers, and we sometimes burn out too. But we believe wholeheartedly in the incredible benefits of peer support. We encourage you to show up exactly as you are and we believe in fostering a positive and empathic outlook on our authentic selves. We are all friendly, sometimes a little messy and we practice self care. We care deeply for our community and we aim to support as many people as we can.

Director
Charlotte Rutherford
Charlotte set up Aupeer in 2021 after experiencing a lack of support after her own diagnosis and wanting to meet and support others going through similar experiences. Charlotte is a fan of cats, cryptic crosswords and green tea.

Managing Director & Peer Support Lead
Anna Harvey
Anna is responsible for the overall running of Aupeer and facilitates peer support groups. Anna discovered her neurodivergency and was diagnosed in her forties and is mum to two neurodivergent children. She loves hiking, gardening and good coffee.

Peer Support Facilitator
Penny Farrell
Penny is a group facilitator and a long time supporter of Aupeer, joining originally as a peer in 2022. Penny is a born advocate. She is passionate about stammering pride and challenging misunderstanding and stigma around stammering as well as advocating for her neurodivergent community.

Peer Support Facilitator
Angee Paxton
Angee is a group facilitator and has been a long time member of our weekly Wednesday group. Angee has previous experience advocating for understanding around mental health challenges in young people. She has much lived experience with neurodivergence and is a huge fan of dogs!
